REMIXES
Remixes are experiments in digital prints. They are only printed once and the same will never be printed again.
Greyed out versions are no longer available but you can still click to look at them here.
“My work is heavily influenced by music. My father was the lead singer of a rock band until I was six. I was educated in music before I could multiply! He gave me a Beatles box set for my nineteenth birthday - because he thought I needed to study them.
Musicians are kind of lucky. They get to write one song and then play it for the rest of their careers. I wondered if I could do the same with art.
This inspired me to build the REMIX prints. Each print is an absolutely individual creation. They will never be printed the same way twice, just as a musician's performance is never quite the same twice. I embraced technology for these, relying on my illustration techniques. I find it ironic that a performer has to rely on human interaction for a unique performance, while I rely on technology to create a unique print.”
